We always try to visit the Crystal Ice Cave in Vatnajokull. In the event that it is inaccessible, we’ll visit another ice cave. During the summer months (April-October), we will go to the Ice Cave Under the Volcano. If this is inaccessible, we’ll do a glacier hike instead.

This tour is perfect for anyone that is arriving in the morning and wants to start making the most of their time right away. This tour starts at 12.00 so if you are arriving in the morning, you can easily join this tour.
On the first day you will be going to the famous Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon and hunting the northern lights in the evening. On the second and third day, you will explore the highlights of the beautiful south coast. Visiting waterfalls, black sand beaches, ice caves and so much more.
The first stop on this 3 day tour is the unique Thingvellir National park. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir is home to Iceland’s first parliament, founded in 930 c.e., as well as enchanting lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Thingvellir is also where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart every year making the rift larger and larger.
After exploring Thingvellir we will head on to the geothermal area of Geysir. The English word geyser derives from this particular geyser in Iceland, known as Geysir. The famous Geysir is not active at the moment, but its nearby brother Strokkur never fails to disappoint. Strokkur erupts every 5 – 10 minutes and bursts through the sky making a show you have never seen before.
The last stop of the Golden Circle part of the trip is Gullfoss waterfall, or the Golden Falls. The water in Gullfoss comes from the second largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull. The water falls in these beautiful cascades, tumbling around 32 meters over two tiers. The waterfall is way more magnificent and powerful in person than when you see it in photos. You will feel the power of the Icelandic nature up close and personal. This is a moment you should be looking forward to.
After visiting the Golden Circle we will head back to Reykjavik. From Reykjavik you will haed on the to the famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is probably one of the best known places in Iceland. Many people say that this is something that you have to tick off your list if you are visiting Iceland. The evening is a magical time to stay at the Blue Lagoon. During the summer time you will have bright skies all evening and the midnight sun is extraordinary. During the winter you might see the northern lights dance above you while you relax in this unique natural hot spring.
You will be spending the first night in Reykjavik.
On the second day your journey to the magnificent South Coast will start. You will be stopping at all the highlights of the South Coast. Here you can find the most beautiful waterfalls, glacier lagoons, black sand beaches, lava formations and so much more.
The South Coast
We will begin our south coast part of the tour with going to the famous walk behind waterfall, Seljalandsfoss. After walking behind the waterfall and exploring it from all angles, we will head on to another magnificent waterfall. This waterfall is just as beautiful but more powerful. The waterfall Skógafoss is one of the best well known waterfalls. You can get pretty close to the powerful waterfall and it is such an unique experience to stand so close to the powerful nature. You can also choose to hike up to the top of the waterfall, and get the magnificent views from there and see the trolls face that legends says turned into stone losing track of time when staring at this beautiful waterfall.
Next up is Reynisfjara black sand beach. See the basalt columns Reynisdrangar out in the sea and the beautiful cave that is located on the beach. After exploring Reynisfjara we will head on to the charming village of Vík. Here we will stop for lunch, take a look at the beautiful little church that stands tall on the hill above the village and enjoy the atmosphere of this small village.
After lunch in Vík we will continue driving along the south coast. We will drive through lava fields with bright green moss and pass beautiful glaicer toungues before reaching the small town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We will be spending the night in a country hotel near Skaftafell National Park. If the forecast for the night is looking good, your guide will sow you the best places to see the Northern Lights.
During the winter time, we will check if the weather forecast for the northern lights is good. If the Aurora Borealis is likely to show up we will do our best to catch them. The northern lights is a natural phenomenon and we can never guarantee a sighting. Our expert northern lights guide will make sure you stay int he best spots to see the northern lights if they show up. With us you are in the best hands to see the Northern Lights!
The next morning, we will wake up to a great breakfast before heading out for the day. This day we will be exploring the amazing Vatnajökull National Park. Vatnajökull is the largest glacier in Europe. We will also explore the unique and extremely beautiful Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Jökulsárlón is one of the most beautiful places in Iceland and a must visit. The lagoon has endless of floating blue ice bergs that slowly glide out onto a black sand beach or out to the Atlantic Oean. Few of the ice bergs end up on the beach that is located close bey, called The Diamond Beach.
After visiting Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon and the Diamond beach we will head out to explore the natural blue ice caves. The Ice Caves in Vatnajökull will completely blow you away with its gorgeous blue colors and crystal ice. A certified glacier guide will join you on this part of the tour as the caves ar so unique and extraordinary. We want to make sure that you get the best experience possible. The guide will walk you through safety instruction, equip you with the necessary gear and tell you all about the ice caves in Iceland.
After this unique day we will head back to Reykjavik and look for the northern lights on the way.
