Tour Details

Pick-up: Pick up starts at 8:00 am. You will be picked up from your selected pick up location. Pick up can take up to 30 min.
Note: Fom October 16th – May 14th we sometime need to skip the following activities because of the short daylight:

• We recommend that you bring good hiking shoes.

What if I don’t own all of the clothing that is necessary?

You can rent hiking shoes, a waterproof jacket, and pants in the booking process. We do not rent gear from location so you would have to book it in advance.

Tour Description

This tour is one of our most popular summer day tours from Reykjavik. This is the ultimate best way to make the most of one day in Iceland straight out of Reykjavík. You will be checking of the Icelandic must-see list all day!

The tour is full of splendid views of Icelandic nature. Drive along the beautiful south coast with stops at all of the highlight including the stunning waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. The drive brings you diverse visuals while we make our way to the beautiful Skaftafell Nature Reserve and visit the breathtakingly beautiful Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. Add an optional amphibian boat tour to complete your day. This sightseeing tour is full of Iceland’s spectacular nature!

South Coast

We start our day with a pick up in Reykjavik. It’s also possible to be picked up on the way to Skaftafell. We will drive past Hellisheidi Geothermal Power plant and along the beautiful south coast. Our first stop is at the beautiful and famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You can walk behind this waterfall to get a breath taking view of the fall and surroundings.

After our visit to Seljalandsfoss, we will stop at the area of Skógar. Here we will explore the powerful waterfall Skógafoss. The two waterfalls are both 60 meters in height but extremely different in power, flow and surrounding scenery. You can walk up the right side of the waterfall for a even better view. You will also see the troll face that stares at the falls. Urban legend says that the troll forgot time staring at this alluring waterfall and turned into stone when sunrise came.

We will stop at the colorful village of Vík were we will have lunch at this beautiful location with views over the sea.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach

After lunch, we are heading for the highlight of the day. Next up is Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and the Diamond beach, only a short walk away. Jokulsarlon lagoon is getting world famous as it has been featured in Hollywood movies such as James Bond, Batman Begins, and Tomb Raider. You also have the option of a boat ride in the lagoon to get even closer to the icebergs. Note that the boat ride is not included – you have to add it as an extra in the booking process.

Skaftafell Nature Reserve

Skaftafell is located just under Vatnajökull glacier, which is the largest glacier in Iceland. In Skaftafell we will enjoy a nice meal in this magnificent glacial setting.

Since summer in Iceland means non-stop daylight we still have time on the way back to stop at the wonderful Reynisfjara black sand beach. With its volcanic sand and basalt columns it’s slowly getting to be one of the most popular sights along the South Coast. Since we will be there pretty late we are hoping to have it to ourselves.

After a stroll on the Reynisfjara beach, we head back to Reykjavik. You should be home before midnight.
