We had the best day on this tour with When in Iceland.
Both Blue Lagoon & Northern Lights were on our bucket list for the trip and it was great to be able to combine it into one day tour.
The northern lights guides were great and helped us take the perfect northern lights photo that we could show our friends and family back home in the states.

This tour includes two of the best winter activities in Iceland – The famous Blue Lagoon and the magical northern lights.
We will start the day by visiting the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is often told to be one of the wonders of the world and is a very popular travel destination in Iceland. Many people say that you can not say that you have been to Iceland unless you have been to the Blue Lagoon.
The mineral rich waters in the Blue Lagoon offer a unique and first-hand experience of Iceland’s plentiful geothermal springs. This is the perfect way to relax and reflect upon the natural beauty of Iceland.
When we get back to Reykjavik after relaxing in the Blue Lagoon we will be a short time until we start the northern lights hunt. Therefor we highly recommend the travelers of this tour to have dinner at the Blue Lagoon or have a packed dinner with them. We have a full night of northern lights exploring ahead of us.
To see the northern lights, we have to travel into the dark Icelandic winter night. Therefor the northern lights tours start at different time depending on what month you are traveling to Iceland. The northern lights part of the tour starts at:
* 21:00 From October 15th to March 14th
* 22:00 From August 23rd to October 14th and then again from March 15th to April 15th
* 22:30 from April 16th to April 25th
The Aurora are wonderfully mysterious and magical. Once you have seen the aurora dance through the skies, you will never forget it. Nothing says Icelandic winter more than northern lights hunting.
We work with Iceland’s most talented Northern lights hunters to find the best places to see the northern lights every night. The Northern Lights hunters have decades of experience analyzing weather patterns and finding the best spot for each night. We never go out on the tour unless we think we have a good chance of spotting the aurora. This means that we have a very high success rate on this tour and we won’t waist your time if we don’t think it is likely that the aurora will appear.
The guide will have a camera tripod that you can use to capture the northern lights on a photo. They can also tell you how to set up your camera to capture the northern lights and the stars in the dark night.
